The time has come!
Ten suitcases. We were able to pare down all of our belongings to only ten suitcases. We were purging up until the very last minute, even tossing out my sons’ dress shoes that they will never, ever want to wear. Walking into the Tom Bradley International Terminal at LAX was a far different experience than a domestic flight and my daughter was intrigued to find people speaking every language.
We are flying Lufthansa in a double decker plane – it’s my first time in a double decker and the kids’ first time on an international flight. It’s pretty cool to hear all the announcements in German. The seats are comfortable and with the help of the TV’s at each seat and a copy of the new Harry Potter and the Cursed Child everyone is entertained. We’re heading to Frankfort where we will connect to Rome. In 15 hours we will have been in three different countries.
The kids had a really hard time saying goodbye (or Auf Wiedersehen) to their friends but once we got on the plane they seem to be thrilled and excited about what awaits.
We’re getting ready to land…at last!
